Just because you notice positive signs throughout an interview, such as the interviewer asking about your availability or notice period or the fact that the interview has lasted a while – never get too comfortable.

Sociability, talkativeness and friendliness are often attractive traits for an employer but there is a line that you need tread carefully. Even when it comes to being asked about your personal life – remember to keep your answers professional, use professional language and maintain good body language throughout.

As recruiters, we meet with the majority of professionals before we consider recommending them for roles to employers. The same rules apply to your interview with your recruitment consultant. Treat that interview, as you would any other interview. This way, the consultant gets a good picture for how you are going to perform in a more formal interview setting.

Good luck with your job search!
