Our client is part of a multinational Japanese corporation and producer of lithium-ion secondary batteries. These are used as an integral part of electrification in the automotive industry. The growing interest in global environmental issues and the tightening of fuel regulations, as well as the demand to improve the environmental performance of motor vehicles, will be greater than ever.
Due to further growth, we are looking for a Commercial & HR Director (m/f/d) for the European Headquarter in Munich.

A varied international position with exciting tasks in a dynamic and expansive environment, flat hierarchies with direct communication and creative freedom awaits you.

Your core responsibilities include 

  • Developing and implementing commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
  • Close cooperation with the president and the global headquarters in Japan
  • Conducting market research and analysis to create detailed business plans on commercial opportunities (expansion, business development etc.)
  • Optimization of structures and processes in the areas of General Affairs, Finance, Purchasing, Logistics and Human Resources
  • Build and maintain profitable partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Monitoring of service providers with regard to effectiveness, quality and costs
  • Control and supervision of travel management in cooperation with external partners
  • Cross-site coordination between Germany and Japan
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for senior management
  • Development, implementation and optimization of company regulations such as employment rules and wage rules
  • Furthermore, you are responsible for the development of the human resources department and also the hiring of qualified professionals themselves

Your Profile and Qualifications

  • Successfully completed a degree in economics or law (preferably master degree) or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a Management role and/or Human Resources
  • Experience in an international environment, ideally in the automotive sector, is an advantage
  • Demonstrable experience and knowledge with human resources metrics as well as german labour law and HR best practises
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mindset
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • You love to work independently, carefully and structured
  • You show initiative, like to take on responsibility and are open-minded, communicative and reliable
  • Proficient in MS Office and modern means of communication
  • Proficient in German and English. Japanese or French would be desirable
