Project Director

The client is an internationally renowned hospitality group, with multiple award-winning resorts around the world. They are looking for an experienced Project Director focusing on major fit-outs and A&A works.

The Project Director is responsible for all aspects of the construction relating to the department of Design & Project Management. The role includes some involvement in the pre-works phase, with the bulk of the emphasis on the delivery of the defined works.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the design team with design management, coordination and delivery to meet the project schedule

• Monitor the progress and development of all deliverables through different stages in accordance with the group's policy

• Provide updates to senior management through meetings or regular reports regarding the progress of construction and works

• Prepare reports for periodic updates to the relevant stakeholders

• Communicate closely with the operations team to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions

• Be involved in the selection of consultants as well as in the negotiation of terms and conditions of engagement with procurement team

• Ensure that Change Management (relating to budget, revised design and potential schedule impact) is carried out in line with the group procedures

• Liaise and work with the design team on project matters, and initiate value engineering initiatives to ensure that the project develops within the time and cost constraints

• Coordinate the activities of the assistant project managers, project engineers and support staff on the project

• Inspect the progress of the work site regularly and provide guidance to the project and construction management teams on best practices and potential efficiencies relating to the processes

• Oversee the Construction Management Team to ensure adequate and timely flow of information, designs, technical data and feedback to meet the stringent construction schedule requirements on the project

• Conduct quality checks for assigned projects

Requirements

• Degree in a Construction/Building/Project Management/Engineering related field

• 15+ years of work experience as a Senior Project Manager/Project Director, preferably in A&A works

• Knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement and related industry standards
